Classic/Antique Car Repair: Spark, 1940 chevy, plug wires

Question
I have a 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe that will not start.  I replaced plugs, plug wires, points, distributor, and rotor button to no avail.  I have spark through the coil and to the distributor, but not to the plugs.  I confirmed the points are properly gaped to .018.  Do you have any suggestions or can you point me in the right direction for assistance?

Answer
I apologize for being slow to respond.

I will try to help, but I need to know some more facts:

Was the car running OK before you changed all the items you list?

Did you remove and re-install the distributor when you worked on it?

If so, did you turn the engine while the distributor was out?

If not, are you certain you got the distributor rotor back in the exact same location (rotation position)?

How are you determining that you have spark to the distributor?

How are you determining that you do NOT have spark to the plugs?

As you probably know, these cars are about the most reliable old car you can own, and the old style Kettering ignition system is almost impossible to mess up, so your problem is very likely a mistake in one of the above steps.   We'll sort it out and get it going again, or know the reason why, I promise.
