Classic/Antique Car Repair: REAR MAIN SEAL ! ! ! HOW TOO ?, ford mustang, rear seal

Hi Tazz

I'm new to rebuilding v8 engines. I own a Ford Mustang Convet. '66

From the little I understand Tazz the REAR MAIN SEAL can and will cause a guy like me real problems if NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY.

Finally My Question Please:

Tazz, HERE WOULD YOU INSTALL THE REAR MAIN SEAL ON MY 1966, V8 289 ENGINE ?

Rear seal replacement has come a long way. You no longer hjave to remove crank. Just remove rear main cap and force to old seal out with the new. If your seal is still orginal you will need one of the corkscrew type puller from auto parts store. Make sure you use new type, not orginal type to replace.
