Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1970 lincoln mark 3, vacuum leaks, vacuum lines

Question
i have a 1970 Lincoln mark 111 ,when i purchased the car over 90% of the vacuum lines had been cut and plugged. i was wondering if there was somewhere i could get a diagram for the vacuum system inorder to reconnect the lines in their proper places

Answer
That's pretty typical for these cars - my 69 is the same way!

Yes, there is a diagram in the factory shop manual.   The problem is that when you get them all hooked up, the car is going to run terrible from all the vacuum leaks - you will have to replace all the hoses and diaphragms in all the devices that are vacuum operated to get it to run right and to get everything to work right.

The shop manuals are available from the auto literature dealers - I use Ed Faxon at www.faxonautolit.com, but there are others out there also.
