Classic/Antique Car Repair: Door Hinges, liquid wrench, wd40

Question
The rear door & side door of my 2000 Ford E-150 van are not used very much & they became very hard to open. I have used can of WD40 on them & tried to move the doors back & forth. 2 or 3 times now I have tried to do this, but they won't loosen up. Could you help me out with an answer to my problem?   THANKS

Mike

Answer
You might need to try "liquid wrench". WD 40 is very limited on its capabilities. It is great for what it does, but it is neither a penetrant or a coating lubricant.

Use Liquid Wrench liberally possibly twice a day for 2-3 days, working them each time. Once they are freed, use 3in1 oil.
