Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1976 Chevrolet Camaro, chevrolet camaro, cables and wires

Question
I need to replace the heater core on the Camaro that I am restoring. Anti-Freeze is leaking onto the floor above the passengers feet and running out of some of the vents. How do I remove the core? The car has A/C. My repair manual is not specific.

Answer
Look at the firewall and notice where the hoses past through. This will give you an idea where you are going on the other side. Disconnect the hoses and then move inside and remove air flow cowling and move cables and wires out of the way. The glove box is usually in the way and easily removed. The core itself is easy to pull and replace. The ducts and covers are the problem.
