Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1939 buick in line 8, compression stroke, firing order

Question
please if you can help me to find the firing order, and location #1 cyl on cap and block, and if poss. where are the timing marks on the crank damp. and timing cover. if you can help please of point me in the direction of the help. all and or any would be appreciated. thanks.

Answer
I don't know of yours specifically but under the any and all help your year model should not have timing mark on dampener but on flywheel with a bullseye port to see it in.

Number one on the distributor is the same as all engines. It is where the rotor points when #1 piston is up on the compression stroke. Firing order should be imbossed on intake or block tab.

That is just general info for the late 30's.
