Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1937 ford flathead v8, ford flathead v8, starter button

Question
When I press the starter button, all I get is a weak clicking sound.  I've installed a new battery. Could you suggest what the problem is?

Answer
Usually this is a bad cable either ground or positive.

It could be the starter "hung"in the flywheel. To check this rotate the engine with a wrench or putting it in a high gear and pushing it back and forth.

It of course can be the starter is out. Most auto parts can check it if you pull it off and take it in.
