Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1963 rambler classic 660, model fuel, dry storage

Question
Hi,the fuel tank in my rambler is rusted out,as I live in New Zealand parts are hard to source as these cars are rare here, would any other rambler model fuel tank fit it,would it be repairable? It is not leaking from the outside just sucking lots of rubbish into the carb.It was in dry storage for 20yrs here before I bought it.Thankyou for your time.

Answer
There are a lot of rust treatments for the inside of a gas tank. You find them most for use in motorcycles. Check local auto parts for a compound best suited for yours. You will end up removing tank from car so that the chemical coats 360 degrees on tank insides.
