Classic/Antique Car Repair: Tilt steering column on 71 Chevelle SS, 71 chevelle ss, voltage reg

Question
The canceling cam works correctly when turning left and then straightening out, when yoy turn right and as soon as yoy start to turn the wheel back (left) it cancels. Can't the cam be adjusted to allow the turn-back a little more time? Also - the key buzzer (wire connection)when attached to the voltage reg. on the firewall will buzz constantly after you start the car. I obviously unhooked the wire. I can't remember if it buzzes whenever the key is in the ignition or out. I thought as long as I have this about 90% apart - I'd fix em both. Any suggestions?? Bob

Answer
If I recall the cam is not adjustable and if it were, since it is one piece adjusting it would throw the left side out.

What usually happens is a piece of debris gets in there and operates the action prematurely. It could also be what is making the buzzer stay on.
