Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1966 Mustang Turn Signal Problem, turn signal switch, top wok

I purchased a 1966 Mustang coupe about four years ago. It had been stored in a barn for about 13 years, so needed some engine work. Otherwise, the body and interior were in great shape. My son and I got it running (new head, etc.) and painted. When we bought it, the it had the original turn signals. Both rear signals worked, but only the right one worked up front. The problem with the left one was not the buld. Since they were both somewhat pitted, I bought a new pair for the front. I replaced the left one first, tried it, and both of the front ones worked! So, I then proceeded to replace the right one. When that was complete, none of the turn signals (front or rear) will work. The parking lights (front and rear) work fine, as do the brake lights. I checked the grounds on both front signals, and they seem fine. I replaced the flasher unit...no change. Do you have any ideas where to look? My next step will probably be the turn signal switch in the steering column, unless you have some other ideas. Thank you.

It would appear to me that the problem is in the new right side lamp or wiring, as everything seamed top wok until that was replaced. Sounds like a short that popped the fuse. Disconnect the right side lamp, check and replace the fuses as needed and try the signals. If the rest work then the problem is in the new unit.
