Classic/Antique Car Repair: Funny Smell, oil grease, cv boot

Question
After having the cv boot changed I started noticing a strong smell of oil, grease, or gasoline after I drive the car. Any idea as to what is causing this smell?

Answer
First of all, I would do a visual inspection to make sure they did not damage and fuel or brake lines while doing the job.

Secondly, did you change the boot because the old one exploded? If so, it my have slung grease onto the exhaust. Did you have the old one greased and that is how you knew it needed replacing?

Also, sometimes new parts do smell until the excess manufacturer fluid "burn off".
