Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1948 Packard Convertible, deck lid, junk yard

Question
I just bought above vehicle, it had been hit in the rear, and the repair was very poor.  I intend to relplace deck lid, deck lid opening, and half of both quarters.  The question is does the coupe, or the sedan share deck lid with the convertible, it looks like the quarter surfaces are the same.  Finding a donor coupe or sedan alot easier than a convertible.  Oh yes, it is the 120 inch wheelbase. Thank you.

Answer
Dick, I am not aware that Packard built a notchback coupe in 48. Convertibles are built like a notchback and not fastbacks as the 48 Packard 2 door coupe was. They did however build a notchback sedan as I remember and that trunk lid might fit. Check your local junk yard and see if they have a Hollander's Interchange manual that goes back that far. That manual will list the information. You can also check with the Packard Auto Club at www.packardclub.org.
