Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1976/79 Ford f-100/150, ford f 100, jumper cables

Question
I just recently purchased a 1979 f-100 series truck, with a 76 nose and a 76 360.  I'm having trouble with the lights however.  I've replaced pretty much all of the bulbs but am still having problems.  The drivers side front parking light/turn signal works fine as a parking light but does not blink when trying to signal a left hand turn (front only).  The left hand front parking light does not come on at all as a parking light.  However, it blinks when I use the turn signal to make a right hand turn and it stays solid if the truck/key is off, but the turn signal is switched on.  Does anyone have any idea how to easily rectify these problems.  I've already registered the truck, because I thought all of the lights were working fine but now I only have a few days to get in inspected.  If anyone could provide any help, I would really appreciate it.

Answer
check your terminology. Drivers side and left hand are the same. We will presume what you meant.

Check your grounding !!!! Nearly everyone of these problems can be realted to bad ground. A pair of jumper cables makes a good temporary test cable.  Test all grounding and follow up.
