QUESTION: sorry, front right manual ant., factory. and how do you remove window sealer from paint. seems my auto body man replaced rocker panel  chrome with window sealant rather than the clips that were provided.  I removed them very carefully and saved them but now I have this goo to remove
ANSWER: Kevin, here is how I remove that damned sealant from paint. Start at one end of it and using your thumb push from the end towards the middle and get the sealant to roll up on itself. It will adhere to itself and begin to roll up in a ball as it comes off. This will not hurt the paint and it will come off clean, although slowly. The antennae is another problem. The first thing that I do with and antennae replacement is to remove the antennae cable from the radio. Then tie a rather long length of string to the end of the antennae cable and tape it in place as well. I usually tie the loose end of the string to the brake pedal or steering column so that I can't pull it all the way through. Now when you get to pulling the antennae out the string can be removed from the cable, tied to the new cable and used to pull the cable through the maze of the body into the correct alignment. On some of these cars the fender needs to be pulled away from the body a bit and on others you might be lucky enough to snake it out once the antennae mounting is removed from the fender. With the new antennae in I usually put a small bead of silicone sealant around the cable where it goes though the grommet into the passenger compartment. This will help prevent leaks. Good Luck.

QUESTION: thr part that I am most concerened with is the part that goes in the fender.  do I need to pull the fender off to get this part in place.  it looks like that is the only way to install it, and if so do I need to pull the complete fender or just loosen up part of it to slide this piece in place and affix it to the fender?  is there a product that will help in removing the adhesive, will a heat gun or a hair drier help?  it is about butt ugly the way it is now and i need to get it off. kevin

Answer
Just the back of the fender if loosened will pull away far enough to get the unit in and out. The best thing that I have found to remove the goop is to roll it with the ball of your thumb. Not knowing what the guy put on the car for paint I would stay away from solvents and heat over what a hair dryer will produce.
