Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1965 Mustang neutral safety switch, neutral safety switch, mustang 289

I'm having intermittent starting problems (as if the transmission is not in park) on my 1965 Mustang 289. So I'm going to try and install a neutral safety switch (which I'm guessing is the problem). I've never dealt with this part at all. Can you provide me with any tips on how to go about it?

I am not big on fixing something that ain't broke. HAve yo jumper the switch to see if that is the problem. If it is the problem is the switch bad or is your linkage just off, which a new switch will not fix.

As for as doing it, it is very simple to just renmove the old one and replace. If you look at it, simply remove the retainer and slide out.
