Classic/Antique Car Repair: driveshaft yoke, wheel bearing grease, small plastic container

Question
what type of grease goes inside the yoke that slips on the transmission output shaft

Answer
I use modern wheel bearing grease - you can buy it at an auto parts store in a small plastic container holding about one pound.  Get the "lithium" based stuff - it tolerates the conditions under the car better than the old stuff.   It will be labled "wheel bearing grease for Disc Brake cars" - it is tolerant of much higher temps and stress loads than it will see on the driveline, but it is tough stuff and does a good job all around the car.  The only problem is that if it gets on your skin or your clothes, it's really tough to wash off!
