Classic/Antique Car Repair: gas tank, fuel gauge, gas tank

Question
1968 mustang gas tank leaking at the wire and fuel line where it enters the gas tank. small drip just started. fuel gauge showing way over full. too much gas put in? or replace rubber boot to the wire?

if it gets any worse I would have it changed, but I would recommend not filling it all the way just go to 5.8 and no more.ok--but if it gets worse have it fixed as it could become serious and some day you will come out to a big pile of smoking melted plastic.  OK>>>
