Classic/Antique Car Repair: Steering Gear Box Leak, sector shaft, needle bearings

Question
I have a 1958 Impala with a leaking steering box. I believe all the leakage is around the sector shaft. What is involved in changing that seal? What is the proper oil for the box?

Its for parts only but most leaks I ever dealt with came from control valve or slave and their pretty easy to rebuild.
You had me on the sector shaft if that is case, its got a bunch of needle bearings, seals etc within pump I could only say to get it on bench and take your time.

I'll look for rebuild kit but whole unit is $299 on classicperform
