Classic/Antique Car Repair: charging system, ford guy, voltage reg

Question
Michael,  Sorry that this question isn't about a chevy but I was hoping you could help any way.  It's a 1969 E-300 Ford . The alternator tests good, the voltage reg. and harness are new.  Starter relay also. It won't charge.  All grounds seem good also.  Could it be the alt. light in the dash?  That light has never worked.

Thanks for your time

Answer
Sounds like a ground. Make sure contact is metal to metal, Also ground strap from engine to firewall, frame etc.
Sometimes they look fine but a little oxidization or rust or too much paint on frame can turn a little problem into big headache:(

Follow up...It is light. It must be in series, I knew GM did that but I asked my Ford guy this morning and he said they did it as well..good luck

Mike
