Classic/Antique Car Repair: 216 ci bell housing removal, heavy hammer, liquid wrench

Question
I'm swapping out a chevy 216 with a 235 in a 39 chevy, and can't get the bell housing off the old 216.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Craig;
Hi I would spray it up real good with some liquid wrench and let it sit for  24 hour. than use a piece of 2x4 and a heavy hammer and try to tap it free with the wood on the bellhousing, and if you can also sneak a thin screwdriver  between it and sprat it up a bit more.  you could even try some heat  but not too much.
