Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1977 Monte Carlo, iola wisconsin, interior issues

Question
Dick, first, thanks for taking my question. I was wondering if $1500 was too much for a 77 Monte Carlo Landau. It runs and shift fine, there are some interior issues, but I could not find any blue book information.
What do you think?

Answer
It is probably too old for the blue book to give you much information, but the Old Cars Weekly price guide, published by Krause Publications of Iola Wisconsin will give you all the information you can use, and also give you a tutorial on evaluating the condition code of your car.   $1500 is a low price for any car that is in "daily driver" condition - so from what you say, it definitely isn't "too much".

The OCPG says a 77 Monte is worth anywhere from $500 to $14000, depending on condition.  Your car is worth at least $2500, if it is in running, driving condition.
