Question
we acquired this car with out the key.how do we remove the ignition to have a key made? are the door locks the same key?

Answer
The door locks use the same key as the ignition, if none of the locks have been changed in the last 42 years.

The easiest lock to get out is the ignition lock, unless you have a door apart for some other reason.   Unscrew the bezel from the front of the dash, and the lock will drop out the back.  Disconnect the wires and take the lock to a locksmith, he can make new keys for you.
