Classic/Antique Car Repair: Torque specs, engine torque specs, homework questions

I've been trying to make my 1940 Buick special in to a nice driver.Planning on doing some engine work over the winter.My question is; Can you give me the engine torque specs for the 248 straight eight.I have the factory buick manual but torque apparently wasn't used at that time. Thanks  Jerry

HI  can you tell me what  you need as I will have to hunt them down,  I guess you will need
rods, crank,heads,intake, let me know . the ones
