Classic/Antique Car Repair: prices, deluxe roadster, great shape

Question
Hello, I am trying to find out what an original 1930 model A 4 cyclinder might be worth. It is a running motor and in great shape. Thank you.

Answer
No serious person can answer this question without examining the car.  If it is totally correct, meaning it has not been modified in any way, and is completely operational, meaning everything on it works correctly, and has nice paint and interior, and all glass, trim, tires, accessories are present and correct, it could be worth anywhere from $5000 for a plain sedan or coupe all the way to $30,000 for a perfectly restored deluxe roadster.  Since you didn't tell me what body it has, I can't hit it any closer than that.

If there are things that need to be fixed on it to get it into the condition I describe, subtract about double the cost of the repairs from the value estimate.

If you want to give me more information, perhaps I can guess a little closer - but you need to inspect the car carefully, top to bottom including underneath, with a Model A expert helping you to identify any modifications or errors in the work that has been done on the car in the last 76 years - I'm sure there are some!

Dick (who sold his two model A's years ago because they are not safe to drive on modern roads - don't overlook that issue!)
