Classic/Antique Car Repair: vacuum diagram, vacuum diagram, ebay

Question
Dick, Hi, I own a 67 Convertible Fairlane with A/C. I have pulled out the dash and I don't know where the vacuum hoses go. I've heard there is a book with diagrams available but I can't seem to source one. Could you please either advise me as to how to rectify the problem or even know where I could purchase such a book? I am writing from Downunder and as summer is nearly here I am getting a little edgy! Cheers from Les.

Answer
The information you need is in the factory shop manual.  I don't have one for that car, but you need one anyway if you are going to be maintaining this car, so I advise you to buy one.

They run on eBay frequently, or you can contact one of the literature dealers who will have one in stock, probably for a bit more money, but at least it will be on it's way immediately.

The dealer I use is Ed Faxon, at www.faxonautoliterature.com - but there are other choices also. Ed is very knowledgeable and usually has what one needs in stock.

If your car was not intended for original sale in the USA, be sure to tell him that, as it may affect which manual you need.

Good luck - it sounds like a very nice car for down under - as long as you don't fall out when you open the top!
