Classic/Antique Car Repair: 36 Ford Phaeton V 8 Overheating, ford phaeton, ford v8

Question
My 36 Ford Phaeton Flathead V8 was replaced with a 41 Ford V8 in 1941 at the Ford dealership. It has a tendency to overheat. What can I do to fix this?

Answer
Scot;

I'm sorry, I did not see your second question until just now. I don't get the "ratings" postings automatically, - I check them once a week or so because the mistake you made is common enough that I need to!    The right way to get back to me is to use the "post a follow-up question" button on your original answer from me.

Anyway, no, I don't know any flathead specialists in your area - we have a very active early Ford V8 club here in Southern CA, and I suspect you do up there too - if you are not a member, you should  be.  Folks in your area will know of someone who knows these engines inside and out!

If you cannot find someone up there, post a follow up to me and I'll ask some of my friends in the local group for a reference to someone, but I'm thinking that isn't really likely to yield the results you want (someone near you).
