Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1971 TR6 Ignition Switch Wiring, pin connections, switch wiring

Question
Help please, unfortunately the wires were pulled from my ignition switch and now I cannot figure out the order in which they were connected.

I have a Lucas 1578a switch with  total of 7 poles (connectors).  The connector labeled #1 has one connector, #2 has two connectors, #3 has two connectors , there is no connector labeled #4, and #5 has two connectors. Can you please provide the wiring order/scheme, so I may reconnect the wires.

Answer
Hi Ray,
From your discription that switch is not a 1971 switch but it can be used.
It was designed to have #1 connected to a white wire (Ignition) #2 is Aux (radio etc) #3 is white w/red tracer (starter sol) #5 is Brown W/ white tracer. (Power)
You can confirm this by checking the pin connections at the different switch positions.
Off = 0
Aux = 2 to 5
Ign = 2 to 3 to 5
start = 1 to 2 to 3
I think the old 1971 switch had 3 white wires so if that is correct on your car you will need to either splice the three together or get a tripple connector to use on #1 pin.
I hope this helps, let me know.
