Classic/Antique Car Repair: braking system, eye dropper, ford coupe

Question
I have a 1950 ford coupe, I would like to check and add fluid to the system but Im not sure where to begin. I have traced the lines to a cylender under the driver side but do not know how to access it. Any help would be appreciated greatly
Thank you very much.
Sincerely

Answer
Yes, you've found the right place.  There is a cap that unscrews on the top of the cylinder, which you access through a hole in the floor of your car. Peel up the carpet and you should see a metal cover held down with two screws that you can remove.  Be sure not to get any dust or dirt in the fluid reservoir when you add fluid.

If you cannot get at the cap that way, someone may have changed the floor in your car. You can still add fluid from under the car, but you'll have to devise a squeeze bulb (like a giant eye-dropper) to put fluid in there.
