Classic/Antique Car Repair: Removal of my rear bumper, impala ss, steel brackets

Question
Dick I am trying to remove  my bumber off of my 65 Impala SS simply to bang out a dent. There are  rounded stud on the out side of the bumper but Im not sure if that all that needs to be removed to take off my bumper. As I look under the bumper there are a few screews but the bumber is still so close to the frame. Please help with instructions .

Thank You

Answer
The bumper is bolted to plain steel brackets that go up alongside the frame, and are bolted to the frame where you can see the bolts.  Just slide under there and look, you should see a group of bolts going sideways through the frame rails -remove those bolts and the whole bumper assembly will come back and off the car, with the brackets still attached.  These bolts are VERY tight, you will probably need an impact wrench to get them loose.
