Classic/Antique Car Repair: 283 chevy, 283 chevy, high altitude


Question
no vacuum under light load... runs fine @ idle with 15pds. booster seems fine, can find no leaks...... is @ high altitude 8800' hasen't been run in a while but never bothered it before?

 HI - if it is all working well , I would not worry about it, as I think it is due to the altitude , I have had a few people tell me about carb. conditions in hi alt. I would just re check all of the vacume lines and the pcv if it has one. if you have any acc. lines plug them.and make shure there are no leaks - you can do this with a can of starting fluid.  you spray the fluid at any place that you think could be leaking with the motor running - if there is a leak the engine will race up when you spray the fluid.
