Classic/Antique Car Repair: I have a 1965 mustang. the..., sway bar bushing, control arm bushing

Question
I have a 1965 mustang. the front left side makes a squeeking and popping noise when I drive or when I push down on it. any suggestions

Answer
This could be a serious problem - you should drive it (slowly!) to an alignment shop that has been in business for many years, a locally owned shop is best - stay away from the chain stores if you can.

Have them put it on their lift to examine and diagnose the front end suspension.  I'm guessing it is a bad upper control arm bushing, but it could also be a ball joint, a lower control arm bushing, a shock absorber, or a sway bar bushing, or maybe just a loose bolt somewhere - and there is no way to tell without a skilled technician testing it.
