Classic/Antique Car Repair: Windows for a 1967 Buick Special, auto glass shop, buick club of america

Question
I need to find windows for a 1967 Buick Special.  Where can I find as much?  In time, I shall probably need other parts, too.  I anticipate seat replacements or reupholstering.  Please help me find parts for this vehicle.  It was the last vehicle my mother had and drove.  It was the only one she personally purchased, with great pride after my father's death.

Answer
Flat glass can be easily gotten from any old time type auto glass shop.  Look in your local yellow pages for a shop that has been in business for at least 20 years or so and has a gray haired guy in there who will enjoy working on an old car.  The chain type glass outfits are usually more interested in working on newer cars, but there are exceptions, so if you can't find an old locally owned shop in your area, call around to the chain shops and just ask.  The curved glass is harder to find, but there are places that specialize in curved glass for older cars.  Phillips Auto Glass is one of those.  You can reach them at:573 785 1927 or at:

As you need further stuff for this car, I strongly advise you to join the Buick Club of America.  You don't have to participate in the club activities if you don't want to, but you'll find their publications very informative especially as to parts suppliers and mechanics who will help you with problems.  Also, as with other old car clubs, they are really nice people who will take an interest in your project and car.  You can reach them at:

Good luck with your car.  I was brought up in a Buick family  also, the last car my folks bought new was a 63 Special, but the previous one was a 51 Special, which my wife an I took over when they got the 63, and we drove it for years - a great car!
