I thought of you when I saw two books that my sister is selling on Ebay.  Please take a look as the bidding ends soon.  Please go to Seller: csdeafavoritethings

I did ask you last week about an upper radiator hose for my husbands 79 Ford F100 460 cid....I'm sorry, but the Goodyear part and the other one were still wrong.   Guess we're going to go to one of those shops to find one to fit!
THanks for your advise and I will certainly come to you for more answers!

Sorry the hoses didn't fit - either the catalog was wrong (it happens) or something in the truck has been changed since it was new.

I looked at the books, but my wife would poison me if I dragged any more "reference material" in here!

Hubby was thinking maybe it was originally a 302 in the F100.  He bought this truck and the 460 was already in there.  Guy said it was originally a 460 and he put in a new 460.  He could be wrong.  Maybe hoses for 302 will fit?

Answer
This is an example of why I point out in my "bio" page that I cannot help with modified vehicles.  I really have no idea what will fit, what with the various changes that have been made to the truck.  If you bring the old hose in to an old line auto parts place, one that advertizes machine shop service, where the guys have greasy hands the there are last year's girly calendars on the wall, you stant a good chance of having someone help you to match up something from stock that will work.   Hoses are not that tricky - all you need is the right size for both ends, the correct length (or longer, they're easy to cut down) and a bend in the sort of right place.

I never saw an F100 with a 460 - I cannot imagine why anyone would make that change, unless he wanted to enter a stump pulling contest, or have bragging rights!   The book shows that less than 0.01% of F100s came that way - and I'd bet it's way less, (like zero?)

Good Luck!
