Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1947 International KB-2, street rodder, ford 4x4

Question
-------------------------
Dick, thanks for getting back to me so fast.  As to why...

The International KB-2 is being built as a street rod with a mustang 2
front end,  the old axle is just laying around here and I was wondering if I should keep the brakes for a nostalgia type car (if they are the same as Ford)   Or if I should just scrap them

Question -
The front brakes look very much like early Ford
brakes,  knowing that International "borrowed" a lot of parts from the big 3 in the 70's -- I was wondering if they did the same in the 40's and if these are the same as 40's Ford front brakes.

Thanks

Answer -
There are only a few manufacturers of brakes, so there are a lot of intances of one car's brakes looking like those on another car.  What is important is the bore size of the master and wheel cylinders, and the size of the linings (width and drum diameter).  If all of these things match, then there's a good chance some of the parts are the same, or close enough that you could use them.

But I wonder why you would do this?

Answer
Arrrgh!  I've been talking to a Street Rodder!  I'm going to have to wash my keyboard off with yellow laundry soap!

Just kidding, of course.  Good luck with your project.  I love old trucks - keep the original appearance if you can!
