Classic/Antique Car Repair: 70 philco radio hook up, flat ribbon, philco radio

Question
I have a 70's vintage Philco radio, that I am pretty sure worked when it was removed from a car, and I am trying to install it in a 1968 Mustang.  But I am not sure how to hook it up correctly to verify weather it works or not.  I don't want to risk damaging it by just trying to hook it up, and get it wrong.
Is there anyway you could help me to get the wiring right, or point me some where I could get/purchase schematics to hook it up.
I don't mind paying for repairs if needed, but I would hate to ship a radio in, only to find out it was working fine.

On the radio is a tag reading
AeroNutronic Ford Model no 6A-D5AA-19A241-AA
This radio should have come from a late 60's or early seventies ford.
There are 7 wires coming off of it.
1, black wire with some kind of filter in line (power?),
2, light blue wire that goes to the light, these 2 wires go to 1 connector
on the other side of the radio there is a flat ribbon of 5 wires
3 white
4 pink
5 red
6 black
7 orangish pink
I was pretty sure that this radio was running 5 speakers in a 1977 LTD (not original)
2 in the rear deck
2 in the front doors
1 in the dash
any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Answer
Garrett,
The chassis is the common ground for the radio. The black wire with the filter may have a red stripe on it if you look close up, this is the main power feed. The flat cable is the speaker output wires. One wire may be the common ground or the common feed wire. If you use an ohm meter to check the wires, the black wire may be the common ground. The other four wires are for front and rear left/right speaker feeds.
