Classic/Antique Car Repair: alternator, vehicals, fan belt

Question
I have a 63 acadian beaumont and I figured it pretty much a nova so hears the question:
My alternator has died so I was wondering with the knowledge(not a whole lot)that I have with vehicals how difficlut would it be to replace it myself? and what has to happen?

Answer
ok i dont think i ever heard of that model but a alt. is a alt. so all you have to do is get a rebuilt one or a new one if you want, remove the pos. batt. term. first. than you must loosen up the fan belt than there should only be one bolt for the adj. to loosen and one long bolt that holds the alt. in place. and there might be one more holding it in place un plug it than just put the new one back the same way it is no big deal but be shure to disconect the pos. term. from the batt. so you will cause no shorts or burn out anything ok, let me know if you need any other help. also if the parts are aluminum do not overtighten them as it will cause them to strip, than you will be in trouble ok.
