Classic/Antique Car Repair: Vacuum Leaks?, vacuum leaks, power brake booster

Question
hello, i know this isnt a classic car but i think i could find the best answer asking some one like yourself.I have a 1988 pontiac firebird and it has been sitting for about 2 years and i have just got it running the other day and there is a wistling noise when its running and when i accelerate it bogs.I was woundering if it could be a vacuum leak, bad plugs,or something like bad gas. Also when it is idleing the rpms jump around from 1200 to 800 rpms. The car has a 305 high output fuel injected carb and i know some of the gaskets are prolly worn from the years of sitting.I would really appreciate your advice. Please e-mail me back. THANX

Answer
OK< since your brake pedal feels hard to push, that pretty well tells you that you have a very serious vacuum leak, and if you can't find a problem with any hoses, the failure is probably inside the power brake booster itself.  This is dangerous, you'll have to get this taken care of before you drive the car - it will be hard to stop this way.
