my warranty plate is long gont, can i find original color and such from my vin#?
Answer -
You don't say what kind of car you are talking about, but in general, the data you need is not on the VIN plate.  It should be on a fender tag, somewhere under the hood.  If it has been lost, look inside the springs of the rear seat cushion or backrest, often there is a copy of the original build instructions there, in coded form. Also, the same information is also often taped to the outside of the top of the glove box (you can only see it with a mirror from under the dash).

I am not aware of anything called a "warranty plate" - at least on US built cars.  If you are referring to the "data plate", it is also called the fender tag or body tag (depending on where it is welded on) - you'll have to say what kind of car and what year and model you are talking about to get more information as to where to look for the info.

Answer
Check with the Mustang club - they might know of some source for data info lookup using the serial number - I know some clubs provide that information, but I'm not sure about Mustang.

Contact them at:  www.mustang.org

Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't tell you any more than I already have.

Sorry not to be more help.
