Dodge Repair: 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport ecm/pcm

van died no warning only sudden hesitation then died, Replaced ecm/pcm on a 2003 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3 engine verified by Dodge Dealership ordered from parts store was told only needed to pug in and go but it seems to be having problem starting, did have it flashed when ordered. Dealership did not reveal what codes was on module what do I need to do now?

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the rating BUT did you try to get the fault code readout using the key??? If there were not codes, or "done" appeared then there are no fault codes. I would suggest that you take a look at the exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve as that can cause a hesitation, die, then a no start or rough start because it is gummed up and is not closing tightly when you slow down or come to a stop or even accelerate. Simply spraying some WD-40 on the valve stem and loosening up the action of the valve stem may solve this problem. Let me know if you need the details.

Are you aware that you can get the fault codes using your ignition key? Turn it "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window of the cluster to see the mileage reading to be replaced by a 4-digit number preceded by a P. Let me know what it is and we'll go from there.
