Dodge Repair: 00 v6 ram pickup: stalls when slowing to a stop, exhaust gas recirculation valve, exhaust gas recirculation

Question
The truck has no problem turning on, but after coming to a stop sign/red-light, it refuses to idle and turns off.

Answer
Hi Brittany,
I believe that your exhaust gas recirculation valve may be gummed up and sticking ajar instead of closing tightly when you take your foot off the gas and stop. But you didn't tell me which engine you have so I can't tell you exactly where it is located. But once you find it then I would spray some WD-40 on the stem of the valve and then work it back and forth by means of the tip of screwdriver inserted into the slot of the valve stem.
Let me know if you can't find it, and tell me the size (L) of your V-6 engine.
