Dodge Repair: air conditioning system: 93 ram van, ac evaporator core, ram van

Question
93 dodge 250 ram van 318 cu 8cyl. AC no cool air. Freon ok, compressor engage & working including blower motor. Whats your suggestion?"Thanks.

Answer
Hi Nick,
The first thing to check would be whether the temperature door is adjusting to meet the setting of the temp control lever. That door varies the path of the air from going over the heater core at one end of range to going exclusively over the ac evaporator core at the other end of the range. I don't have a ram van maual for the '90's but does the temp lever feel like it is connected and moving something? If not then I would try looking  through any openings in the control panel or begin to remove the control and look as you get behind to see what the lever is supposed to move and watch to see if it is indeed moving the lever for the temperature door. If that seems to be working then the valve inside the unit that is located where the refrigerant enters the evaporator core may be closed/defective. But again, I am not able to look at a manual for the details. Best of luck on this.
