Dodge Repair: 02 Ram: HVAC air distribution problem, hvac air, side vent

my 02 ram 1500 quad cab,s air blows cold, but wont come out all the vents strong. the drivers side vent just barley comes out, the center is a little stronger, but all of the will not hardly blow your hair back

Hi Bryan,
That sounds like an issue with the air diastributin syatem, possibly a binding up of the mode door which when moved changes how the air is distributed, or possibly a failure of the electrical actuator of the mode door. When you ask for other distributions of the air does that happen or is it stuck in the present situation? I would check the individual outlets to see if those are bound up as the first step. According to the '04 manual which is the closest I have to your '02, each outlet is removable by gently prying around the edge with a soft paddle or stick, Then inspect them and the ducts to which they atteach. You might want to look under the dash to see if the duct work for the low air flow duct are loose of disconnected along the parhway from the HVAC box to the outlet. If all those are ok and yet you can't move the air around then that involves getting to the actuator and the mode door itself. Unfortunately that requires disassembly of part of the dash which I can share with you by copying pages from the manual and attaching them to an email.
