Dodge Repair: 2006 dodge ram v8 1500 truck question, fuel injection system, vacuum line

my truck seems to be having a problem with its fuel injection. i need to know where to look as in sensor relays or if i need to change the fuel pump? it wants to turn over but it sputters and only stays on if i hold pedal to the floor and it sounds like a vacuum line or something a lot of air what to look for or what to do? please help me any input would be greatly appreciated?

Before condemning the fuel injection system you should try and retrieve some fault codes, if any, from the engine controller. Try this first, cycle the ignition switch as follows, On-Off-On-Off-On and leave on. Watch the window where the mileage is displayed, if there are any fault codes in the engine controller, they will be displayed there. You will be looking for a P followed by 4 numbers, such as, P1234. Write down the codes and repeat the process to double check what you saw. If no P-codes are displayed then you may need to get a professional involved. Which you may need to do in any case, but let's start with trying to retrieve some codes first.
