Dodge Repair: follow up on A/C compressor bad, dodoge, compressor clutch

Question
Hi again......I do have rear air and that air is warm too. I felt the low pressure side line while the compressor was running for awhile and it is warm too and never got cold. Is there something with the rear air that can cause this pressure to stay high and feel warm on the low side? I am going to try and find out what the high side pressure is and I'll get back to you. Thanks again

Hello! An answer to your question: QUESTION: A/C on max, car started, compressor clutch is engaging, cheched low pressure side....its at 75psi (dont have a gauge for the high pressure side) also checked with car off and low pressure side is at 75psi, tried to add freon and does not get drawn into the system. Hope I have given all the info that is needed to get an answer. Thanks ANSWER: Year make and model would be helpful. ---------- FOLLOW-UP ---------- QUESTION: sorry about that 1999 Dodoge Grand Caravan ES 3.8 with rear air ANSWER: If in fact that the clutch is engaged and you have no pressure drop, it is a very good possibility that the compressor has failed. ---------- FOLLOW-UP ---------- QUESTION: Thanks. I would agree with you that the compressor is probably bad. I would bet that the high side would probably read 75psi the same as the low side as pressures tend to balance through the regulator orfice. Thanks for the confirmation. I was just asking as if there might be something else that I am not aware of that can happen in a A/c system as I am still learning about them. Thanks again

Answer
Since you have front and rear air both unit use separate expansion valves. Odds are very much against both valves failing so they would remain open and cause the compressor not to build any pressure or cool the air passing through the evaporator. Keep me posted as to your progress.
