Where is the filter located, is it inside the tank?

I just found this question in the Question pool so I'll do my best to help you. Most newer vehicle don't use a replaceable fuel filter, instead they use a very fine screen which is part of the fuel pump assembly. If I knew the year/make/model and engine size I could give you a more accurate answer.
