Dodge Repair: 1999 dodge truck 5.2L oil pump drive gear install, distributor shaft, compression stroke

Question
How do you correctly time the oil pump drive gear when installing it on a 5.2 motor from a 1999 r1500 truck?  I'm putting a motor back together and am close to being done.  The drive gear has a slot on top which the distributor shaft sits in.  Does the slot have to be in a certain "O'clock" position?    I have the Motor at TDC for #1 cylinder on compression stroke and am ready to install the distributor, but the distributor will never be correctly installed if the oil pump drive gear isn't in the correct position.  I can't find any literature on this.  Can you please help?  Thank you.

Answer
Literature on how to correctly install the distributor/oil pump drive is spotty at best. I've found that the correct position to install the drive is that when you install the drive the final position should be that the drive slot should line up to the back of the #1 cylinder intake port.
