Dodge Repair: Dodge Cummins performance chip, cummins diesel engine, dodge cummins performance

Hi,  Thank you for reading my question. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 4x4 with a Cummins diesel engine.  My work arrangements have changed since I bought it, and I'm commuting a long way now, but don't need a lot of muscle to do it.  Is there some kind of performance chip that isn't a scam?  Something that would improve my fuel economy a little bit?  Thanks

We have had so many problems with vehicles that have had performance/mileage chips installed that I cannot even begin to tell you about them. Not only have they ruined engines and fried PCM's, their installation also voids all warranties on the vehicles. Therefor I'd advise you to stay as far away as possible from installing one. Buying a small beater car for your commute will be a lot less expensive in the long run.
