Dodge Repair: headlights blinking off and on, turn signal switch, dodge dynasty

Question
Russell, I have a 1991 Dodge Dynasty 3.3L V6 when I turn the headlights on after a few minutes they start to blink at first this was only when high beams were on but lately when low beam is on if I turn the lights off it will stop for a while then start again I have checked for loose wires and ground all were good I replaced the headlight switch butt still get the same thing
could this be the headlight relay? but I don't know where it is located on my car would you know the answer

Answer
I just answered a question that had the same symptome. That questioner replaced his headlamp switch and that fixed his problem for the most part. You seem to have the same problem, the cicuit is overheating, But to answer your question, there is no headlamp relay in these vehicles. It's a simple circuit, a fuse, headlamp switch, high beeam switch, bulb, associated wiring and connectors.
The following is the text of the answer I sent him;

The primary reason for this circuit to overheat is excessive resistance in the the wiring. This also includes the gtound portion of thr cicuit. I will not be able to say where the problem is but I will try to steer you down the right path.
Starting at the headlamp switch you'll need to check all the connectors to make sure they are clean and tight. The locations to check are; headlamp switch, high beam switch (part of the turn signal switch), bulkhead connector on the firewall above your left foot, a gray 8 way connector near the right side of the radiator, the headlamp connectors and any body ground connectors. I would focus on the grounds since they are the most difficlt to diagnose. Hope this helps in some way.
