Dodge Repair: 2000 Grand Caravan, grand caravan, throttle body

Question
My caravan has a bit of hesitation sometimes when I'm driving it.  Quite often the motor just quits while I'm driving down the street, especially if I'm slowed down or sitting at a stop light.  It starts again right away(thank goodness) , at least so far it has started.  When this happens I lose all power steering of course and it doesn't' make me want to go out driving til I can get this diagnosed.  I changed the air filter and do regular maintenance, but haven't had the van for very long. All the hoses and stuff look good.  I wondered if it could be the distributor cap or the coil.  Your thoughts will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Answer
I don't think you have a problem with the ignition system here. More than likely you have excessive gunk built up around the throttle body blade. This will tend to choke off the air supply to the engine causing your stalling and hesitation. The fix is easy enough, get a can of throttle body cleaner, remove the big hose at the throttle body that comes from the air cleaner, start the engine and spray the cleaner into the throttle body while you rev the engine. This should clear up your problem.
