QUESTION: Please Help I have a 1999 dodge stratus automatic with a 2.4 engine. it is slipping like its in nuetral unless you give it gas but then you might be only go 5 feet and goes back into neutral. i have replaced the input and output sensors, my speedometer still does work. I took it to autozone and they said car might be in "safe mode?" they put car on machine and it spits out following codes p1782, p0700, p0731, p0732 please help me with this problem as i was told i could replace transmission and might still have problem because it might have not been transmission or same thing i could replace transmission control modual and still have same problem and im disabled and cant walk far so i need help as i need this car

ANSWER: I would suggest that U take it to a trans shop and let them look at it   instead of guessing  and letting other people guess at it.

QUESTION: are they right on saying the gear ratios are all off? thats what they told me all the o770, 0731, 0732 things were and i just dont want to junk the car if its just need a reprogram i guess it was called. but dont have alot of money and they (tranny shop) said it was $100 just to diagnose it

a reprogram of anything wont fix a single thing.   a u have gear ratio error  possible clutches  or broke gears .  I hate to tell u this but any shop will charge u too look a a car with probs.
U cant expect to take it to some place they tell u whats wrong and not pay the people there to do the work  to do it for free do ya?
Do u get out of a DR office with out a co pay?
